You can get your steps in and also participate in our company wellness program!Be Part of a Team - Every position plays a key role in meeting customer needs and we all work together as a team to get things done in our family-run organization!Position OverviewThe Quality Control Manager is responsible for participating in and overseeing the quality control inspection of receiving, in-process, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality specifications. This position will recommend new or improved quality control methods, procedures, and/or standards. Will be responsible for supervising Quality Control Inspectors, including hiring, training and coaching.The successful candidate for this position will have previous training and/or experience in quality control, including metal fabrication, machining, machine assembly, drafting or engineering.Responsibilities• Responsible for participating in and overseeing the quality control inspection of receiving, in-process, and finished goods• Responsible for ensuring all equipment is maintained / calibrated as appropriate• Lead and promote the Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) process• Assist in implementing quality tools that govern all quality functions from raw material to purchased goods throughout the production and shipping departments• Investigate, analyze, and resolve quality issues identified by inspectors by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends, and leading continuous improvement projects• Analyze non-conformances and process failures to facilitate solutions for trouble parts• Coordinate, track, and communicate the KPI performances daily, weekly and monthly for quality focused metrics• Develop countermeasures for KPI that do not meet expectations• Assist manufacturing and engineering by helping them develop process changes and assembly practices• Participates in the ISO9001 audits and documentation of processes to ensure compliance to internal procedures and the ISO9001 standard• Participates in the generation of part specific quality plans utilizing customer drawings, CAD Models, and process specifications to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements• Participates in the review of customer or contractual documentation (including proposals) to identify and ensure fulfillment of quality requirements• Provides technical and advisory support to the production department• Understands GD&T requirements as applied to engineering drawings and notes• Train, coach and supervise Quality Control Inspectors• Other duties as assignedRequirements• Technical degree is strongly preferred• A minimum of three (3) years' experience in an industrial manufacturing setting, preferably in Quality Control or Inspection, is required - OR a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering may be substituted for industrial experience• Must be proficient in interpreting blueprints and schematics that include mechanical, welding, hydraulic, electrical, and assembly drawings• Knowledge of ISO9001 standards is preferred• Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs and willing to learn manufacturing MRP software• Must have excellent communication skills (verbal, written and electronic)• Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and be self-motivated• Must have the ability to work 40 hours a week and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance recordPlease reach out to Mallory McQuistan at 605-231-5513 or mallory.mcquistan@gogpac.com with any questions!All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.GPAC (Growing People and Companies) is an award-winning search firm specializing in placing quality professionals within multiple industries across the United States since 1990.
