This role combines interaction design and research skills to create user-centric designs for Grainger's custom enterprise tools.Key Responsibilities:• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and User Interface Designers to design user experiences for internal customers.• Work with UX and UI Designers to align patterns and priorities.• Create early-stage concepts for discussion, feedback, and alignment.• Facilitate discussions with users and stakeholders to define experience needs.• Translate business requirements and user needs into interaction designs through user flows and wireframes.• Adapt designs to technical and business constraints for iterative release.• Evaluate current experiences and provide improvement recommendations.• Communicate design decisions, rationale, and direction effectively.• Develop detailed documentation for design standards.• Plan and conduct user research, testing, and secondary research.Qualifications:• Formal education in Human Centered Design, Design Methods, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field.• 3+ years of UX experience with agile product teams; corporate B2B experience preferred.• Deep understanding of design, usability, and research best practices.• Experience designing for complex business processes.• Experience contributing to a pattern library or design system.• Proficiency in wireframing tools.• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.• Strong facilitation skills.• Initiative to plan and execute work proactively.• Ability to make thoughtful decisions in ambiguous situations.• Work samples demonstrating the ability to break down complexity and balance user, business, and technical considerations.Compensation:• Salary range: $93,000 to $157,000, eligible for an annual MIP bonus.• Compensation decisions consider experience, qualifications, geographical area, and internal equity.Rewards and Benefits:• Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance starting day one.• Generous paid time off (PTO) and six company holidays per year.• Automatic 6% 401(k) company contribution each pay period.• Employee discounts, parental leave, 3:1 match on donations, and tuition reimbursement.• Comprehensive wellbeing programs covering emotional, financial, physical, and social aspects.• Work-from-home flexibility.Equal Employment Opportunity: Grainger is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and fostering an inclusive, accessible environment.
