This position is Remote. Candidates will be considered based on their qualifications and the candidate’s ability to work from an approved work location. Although the location is flexible, AEP does not have a presence in all states and localities. The following locations are NOT currently approved for this position: AK, CO, CT, DE, HI, IA, ID, KS, MA, ME, MS, MT, ND, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OR, RI, SD, UT, VT, WY, US Territories or international work locations. AEP will consider qualified candidates who are willing to relocate to an approved work location, at the candidate’s expense, provided the relocation can be completed within a timeframe that meets AEP’s staffing needs.

Responsible for grant pre-award and award agreement negotiations for select Business Units. Will be responsible for grant application and negotiation activities across a select portfolio of projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS are listed below:
Provide regular updates to all stakeholders;
Pre-Award
Works with appropriate business units to develop technical and operational specification to meet grant application requirements;
Serve as point of contact for items, issues, and questions relating to assigned grant proposals
Leads grant application consultant to ensure specific application deadlines and requirements are met;
Works with Operating Companies and other Service Corp groups to develop supporting documentation such as scope & estimates, deployment schedules, and cash flows;
Award
Coordinates with appropriate business units and consultants to ensure timely and accurate response to grant maker during award phase;
Leads negotiation of award agreement with grant maker;
Coordinates with Operating Companies and other Service Corp groups during award agreement negotiation to ensure Companies ability to comply with proposed agreement;
Coordinate with Regulatory on funding mechanisms and approval strategy;
Works with appropriate business units post award agreement to ensure proper handoffs and understanding of grant award requirements
Supervise employees as assigned
Provide support to direct reports in their development activities and mentor other employees

Minimum Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Technology, Management, Business or Engineering or Associate’s degree in same disciplines
Experience: With a Bachelor’s, need 9 years of grant writing, project management, or business development experience; Associate’s degree, need 11 years of experience
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Complete understanding of industry safety protocols
Solid written and oral communication and presentation skills
Negotiation skills - experience with third party contract negotiations
Requires periodic travel within the United States
Physical demand level is Sedentary
