Summary

The individual in this position will be responsible for Creative project work within the Carhartt Creative Department. This Designer will be able to conceptualize and execute designs for Brand and Marketing initiatives, campaigns and promotions, special events, and seasonal/brand materials. Responsibilities include page layout, type and color, and include producing final files that image properly for various media from web to print. Responsible for conceptualization through completion. Ability to manage project timeline and production process as needed.

Responsibilities
With the direction of the Creative Leadership Team, create and design various materials for print and digital projects that support Brand initiatives and campaigns and truly bring the brand to life.
Brainstorm with design and copywriting peers. Lead project team in development and implementation of high-quality and Brand-appropriate materials.
Interface with Project Managers to understand the needs of their projects, advising them on strategies to reach their audience and fit within the direction of the Brand.
Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule. Communicate timeline/process changes to appropriate team members. Solicit feedback and approvals to ensure deliverables meet expectations. Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them.
Work with internal Production artist and external partners as necessary to complete projects.
Prioritize and manage multiple projects within project and budget guidelines.
Lead, coach and mentor freelance and junior designers.
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required in Graphic Design or Related Field
Required Skills and Experience
5-8 years of design experience
Proficiency in design programs including Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat) on the Macintosh platform
Extensive understanding of layout, type and color. Ability to address technical problems as they relate to visual design. Possesses a thorough understanding of interface design and skillful use of design tools.
Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, thorough attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong prioritization skills with ability to set and meet deadlines as well as manage resources effectively.
