Sr. Software Developer - AWS, API Required - 5-Positions
• 6 month contract-to-hire
• Rate: $100/hr absolute max - Highest Rate Offered
• Conversion salary: up to $100,000 to $150,000 max
• U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents only
• A bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology required
• Minimum 8+ years experience required as stated in the job description
• End Client: NHTSA IROC, East Coast Candidates preferred as all teams work on EST.
• Public Trust Clearance (generally 2 to 4 months)
Description
We are seeking a seasoned API Developer with a robust background in AWS cloud infrastructure to implement secure, scalable APIs that enhance application functionality and user experience. This role involves collaboration with cloud architects and front-end developers to deliver APIs that adhere to AWS best practices and application needs. The senior developer will be responsible for managing the full API lifecycle within the AWS ecosystem, ensuring optimal performance, robust security, and high availability.
This role is pivotal in maintaining a high-performance, cloud-native application environment and driving forward the team’s technological capabilities with AWS services.
Responsibilities
• Design and implement secure, scalable, and maintainable APIs optimized for AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure seamless integration and dynamic front-end functionality for the application.
• Manage the full API lifecycle within the AWS ecosystem, utilizing services like AWS Lambda for serverless APIs, and monitoring through Amazon CloudWatch.
• Optimize API performance through regular testing and performance tuning, leveraging AWS's elastic capabilities to ensure high availability and scalability.
• Implement robust API security measures using AWS IAM (Identity and Access Management) and apply best practices for secure API gateway configurations.
• Iterate on existing APIs in response to user feedback, application updates, and evolving AWS services that can enhance functionality.
• Utilize AWS monitoring services to track API usage, identify performance bottlenecks, and inform decisions on infrastructure and feature improvements.
• Conduct code reviews within Git repositories, ensuring adherence to cloud development best practices and high-quality standards.
Requirements
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline is required.
• 8 years of experience in a comparable position, demonstrating a track record of success in software development for sophisticated applications in large-scale production environments.
• Prior experience with federal government projects is highly regarded and will be considered an asset.
Desired Skills And Experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in NodeJS, TypeScript, and JavaScript, with a strong foundation in coding principles and design patterns.
• In-depth experience with serverless architectures, particularly within the AWS ecosystem, including but not limited to Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFormation, S3, SNS, and SQS.
• Strong command over Elastic Search, with the ability to design and implement search-driven solutions.
