GreenHouse Gas Analyst

California Resources Corporation (CRC) is the largest oil and gas producer in California. CRC is leading the energy transition in our sector and has committed to net zero full scope greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2045, paralleling efforts in California and around the world. CRC is adding talent to its Sustainability team to assist in forging the path to a low carbon future.

California Resources Corporation is seeking a self-motivated, and results-driven Sustainability Analyst to contribute in a team-based environment in evaluating, developing, and implementing ESG programs initiatives. This person will be responsible for gathering and analyzing information in support of the sustainability program. This position will be based out of Long Beach, CA or Bakersfield, CA. and is eligible for a 9/80 and hybrid work- from-home schedule.

The base annual salary for this posted position is reasonably expected to range from $56K to $95K, with a target annual bonus target of 10% of base salary. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including education, experience level and relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Data collection and analysis: Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources to build and maintain ESG reporting and analysis documents. Maintain data sets supporting the range of ESG programs and information for external sustainability reporting requirements.
  • GHG Data Automation: Develop and implement GHG data automation processes to improve Quality Assurance/Quality Control
  • Support all aspects of medium to large-sized multidiscipline GHG projects with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team
  • Perform projects involving GHG emissions inventories, GHG mitigation and carbon management strategy development and implementation
  • Provide economic analysis related to greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation, including carbon sequestration, carbon removals, economic analysis of regulatory and policy options, lifecycle analysis and valuation of carbon
  • Assist with studies of the costs and effectiveness of emissions abatement
  • Support analyses of developing technology for renewable fuel production and decarbonization
  • Travel: Visit Operations Sites including but not limited to the Bakersfield area, Long Beach area and Sacramento Basin area to continue standardization efforts of GHG Process Flow Diagrams.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferable Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or environmental and other technical majors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills, focus on SQL, Excel, Access Databases and other MS Office tools.
  • Experience with computer science and statistics
  • Strong analytical skills
