Job Description

Advancement fosters a culture that actively seeks to advance the University in it’s community, gather philanthropic support from philanthropists, charitable trusts and foundations, alumni, staff, students and corporations, and engage the University’s 300,000 alumni worldwide. The Advancement team engage with people and community groups who want to support Griffith's educational programs and research. Griffith University’s success depends not only on the future generosity of governments and industry partners, but on donations from individuals, corporations and other organisations.

Do you have experience in co-ordinating events in a corporate or university environment?  If so, you will succeed in this role by organising Advancement events, with responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • In consultation with the Deputy Director Advancement, provide advice and support for the diverse suite of Advancement domestic and international events.
  • Liaising closely with the Protocol and Events team, organise all aspects of events relevant to the Advancement portfolio, including administration, logistics and database management.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including managing guest lists and RSVPs, responding to event enquiries, sourcing and developing relevant materials, preparing event briefs and reports, and ensuring accurate event records are maintained in the Advancement database.
  • Develop and implement administrative systems and procedures to ensure efficient and effective support for all Advancement events.
  • Act as the main contact point for all internal and external Advancement event related enquiries.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with relevant key stakeholders.

About you
Preferably with qualifications in event coordination, you will be driven to deliver events which inspire and delight.  You will be highly organised, detail orientated and able to work independently to ensure remarkable event experiences for alumni, donors, colleagues and members of the University community.

You will have a proven track record in successful event coordination in a corporate and/or university environment.  You are a committed self-starter, with well-developed organisational and administrative skills including the ability to prioritise and meet competing deadlines. The role requires a strong client focus, exceptional database skills and the capacity to build networks with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

What we can offer
This is a fixed term (until end 2025), full-time position primarily based at Griffith University Gold Coast or Brisbane South (Nathan) location. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.

Salary Range
The full-time base salary for a HEW Level 6 is in the range $89,603 - $95,575 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total FTE package is in the range $104,835 - $111,823 per annum.
