We are now accepting applications for a qualified Groundskeeper at Belmont University.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To insure the grounds of the University are maintained in such a manner so as to enhance the overall view of the University as perceived by prospective students, parents, faculty, staff, and guests.
- Groom flower and shrub beds, includes watering, mulching, pruning, weeding, fertilizing, and edging.
- Install plant material as directed., Apply snow/ice melt products when necessary.
- Selective tree maintenance
- Basic grooming of undesirable areas.
- Assist with interior set up/breakdown of greenery; Exterior furniture and statuary maintenance; parking lot and curb cleaning.

Required Qualifications:

- Must have a valid driver’s license and will be required to drive for Belmont business.
- Must have basic knowledge of landscaping procedures.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs frequently.
- Must be physically able to accomplish the tasks and duties of the position primarily in an outdoor setting.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions from Material Safety Data Sheets and manufacturer’s instructions for product use.
- Must be able to read, write, comprehend, follow and give instructions in English verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written directions.
- Must have ability to complete job assignments in a quality and timely manner.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience: No experience is required. Prior landscaping experience is preferred.
