Guardians of Honor is a small management consulting firm supporting the federal government since 1997 (www.gohnow.com). GOH is seeking an exceptional STEM engagement professional.
The Community Outreach Specialist (COS) is a professional responsible for independently performing and supporting NASA Langley OSTEM’s outreach and special event programs. This position exercises judgment and initiative in its assigned tasks, receives only occasional instruction or assistance, and is fully aware of GOH’s and NASA’s operating procedures and policies.
The ideal candidate should have experience working with people of all ages and a background in working for schools, museums, science centers, or other STEM-focused businesses or organizations. You must also be able to contribute to our positive and proactive culture while working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and high-energy environment.

Must be able to commit to a time frame below.
Work Environment: Employees work with moderate noise, varied temperature conditions, and occasional sun exposure.
Physical demands: The job requires standing for extended periods and occasional walking and bending. Typically, the job involves 75% standing,15% reaching, and 10% bending. Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 20 pounds.
Position type and expected work hours: This is a temporary contract position working up to 20 hours per event, depending on workload.
Travel: Events are in Hampton Roads, VA local area
Required education and experience: Bachelor’s degree required, STEM teaching / classroom experience required
