Guest Services Representative

Position Summary:
The Guest Services Representative provides directions to guests/team members within the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

Status/Shift
Full time (40 hours per week)/Second Shift (2:00PM - 10:30PM) available to work third shift as needed.

A Guest Services Representative is located in the Surgery Reception at Arnold Palmer, the
Surgery Reception desk is covered from 0530-1630 Monday-Friday. Services provided in this
area include welcoming the patient and their guests, communicating information between family
and the physician regarding the progress and length of surgery and communicating with the
family to report back to the surgery area.


APH Guest Services Department

Guest Services operates the facility information desks (Castle and Miller Street) at Arnold
Palmer Hospital for Children. Guest Services operates the Castle desk during the hours of 0630
to 2230, 7 days a week. Guest Services operates the Miller desk during the hours of 0530 to 2230
Monday-Friday and 0630-2230 Saturday –Sunday. Services provided by Guest Services
include; fast pass security badging, communicating patient location information, facility and
campus directions, greeting and escorting guests and indigent transportation arrangements.

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children

Providing compassionate care to the children, teenagers and young adults of Central Florida for more than 30 years, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is located on the downtown Orlando campus and includes 156 licensed beds for specialized care for children as well as the Bert Martin’s Champions for Children Emergency Department & Trauma Center, offering trauma care for children as the pediatric site of the Orlando Health ORMC Level One Trauma Center. State-of-the-art pediatric services are provided by a comprehensive staff that includes pediatric subspecialty physicians and a nursing team that is “Magnet” recognized for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care. The hospital also has earned national recognition for 12 consecutive years as a “Best Children’s Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report and was included, together with Orlando Health ORMC, in the IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals® list for 2021.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
  • Escorts guests to their in-hospital destinations as needed.
  • Maintains current knowledge of hospital personnel, departments and their locations in order to refer guests to the appropriate department or person.
  • Provides information to all hospital team members.
  • Responds to needs of guests/team members either on the phone or in person.
  • Makes rounds on a regular basis of patient areas to identify and meet patient/visitor needs.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with all hospital staff, management, and departments such as Volunteers, Social Work, and Home Health.
  • Assists Social Service with transportation and hotel or flight arrangements for patients and their families.
  • Displays a caring attitude as well as sensitivity to the needs/concerns of customers.
  • Presents a professional image in dress, hygiene and communications skills.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.¿

  • Attends in services/meetings as required.
  • Completes all mandatory education.

  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Training
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification
  • None.
Experience
  • Two (2) years of experience in a customer service setting.
