The Position:
As a Corporate Tax Manager at Gurobi Optimization, your primary responsibility will be to ensure strict adherence to tax laws and regulations, aligning with our commitment to financial precision within the organization. Collaborating closely with our finance and accounting team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the punctual and precise reporting of financial data. Your duties will encompass the oversight of all tax-related operations, including the preparation and submission of tax returns, overseeing tax audits, and providing informed guidance to the leadership team regarding pertinent tax legislation and regulations
What will you be doing? - Create, improve, and maintain tax plans, compliance procedures, and risk assessment frameworks to ensure effective tax management.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting team members to ensure our tax strategies and policies are implemented accurately per national and international tax compliances.
- Identify, track, and report any potential financial risks or issues and work closely with the accounting teams to implement appropriate solutions.
- Conduct a thorough analysis of taxes to provide expert advice on tax planning and optimization opportunities to ensure compliance with national and international regulations.
- Coordinate and manage tax audits, inquiries, and notices from tax authorities.
- Maintain documentation and records related to tax filings, provision, and other tax-related activities.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on financial issues, including tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and proactively identify potential risks or opportunities for the organization.
- Foster a culture of tax compliance and awareness throughout the organization, providing training and support as needed.
What experience and qualifications should you have? - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate taxation.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proven ability to develop and implement tax strategies that align with business objectives.
- Proficiency in financial systems, such as Netsuite and PowerBI.
What skills and abilities should you have? - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
- Comfortable collaborating with international teams in a cross-functional capacity.
- Willingness and satisfaction in working from a home office in a remote work environment.
- Flexibility regarding travel requirements as specified.
- Ability to participate in meetings across global time zones within reasonable limits.
