As we prepare to introduce the Gymshark brand to the vibrant New York City market, we are seeking an experienced Events Lead to ensure our brand not only resonates with the local culture but also stands out, driving store traffic, increasing product sales, and enhancing brand awareness in this new and competitive landscape.
This senior-level role is critical in shaping the Gymshark presence in New York City, requiring a strategic thinker with a proven track record in event management, team leadership, and budget oversight. The Events Lead will be instrumental in developing and executing innovative campaigns and activations that embody Gymshark’s core values and culture, engaging both new and existing customers.
Working Hours
This position operates within retail hours, with flexibility required to accommodate event schedules and campaign launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of 2 retail event specialists, ensuring high performance and deep understanding of Gymshark’s culture and brand values.
- Champion Gymshark culture within the team, inspiring advocacy and alignment with the brand’s mission.
- Strategize and implement initiatives to drive in-store traffic, attract new customers, and retain existing ones, increasing overall store awareness and product sales.
- Collaborate closely with the Corporate Retail Events Manager to align store events with broader brand campaigns, ensuring cohesive and impactful brand presentation.
- Foster relationships with external partners and suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure the best value and support for Gymshark events and activations.
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple event projects from concept to completion, ensuring first-class delivery and alignment with local insights and culture.
- Develop strategies to ensure the New York Retail Events team is in sync with global brand campaigns, visions, and activations, identifying opportunities for collaboration and cultural relevance.
- Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge and resonate with the target audience.
- Convert online campaigns to in-person experiences in-store, educating consumers on Gymshark products and campaigns through innovative activations.
- Design and manage a local event calendar that engages the New York City community and aligns with Gymshark’s global brand strategy.
- Manage and track the New York store budget, ensuring strategic project delivery within financial guidelines.
- Implement and refine processes to streamline operations and achieve store goals, reporting on activation outcomes and insights to inform future strategies.
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a focus on event management and retail environments.
- Demonstrated ability in the end-to-end execution of large-scale events and activations.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Exceptional negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- A passion for creating memorable events and consumer experiences that drive brand engagement and loyalty.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting and selling innovative concepts and ideas.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to drive brand awareness and sales in the New York City market.
- Experience in budget management at a senior level, with a clear understanding of how to allocate resources effectively to achieve marketing and sales objectives.

Salary
The hiring range is between $85,000 - $95,000 per annum. The base pay offered is based on market, experience, and skills.
