Marketing Assistant, Little, Brown

SUMMARY: 
The Marketing Assistant will report to the Senior Marketing Director and will provide a wide range of administrative and marketing support to the Little, Brown and Company title marketing team, including the coordination of marketing campaigns from planning through implementation, newsletter promotions, social media and digital content creation, and more.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Support the title marketing team by contributing to marketing brainstorms, book campaigns, and content creation
  • Own the department’s project management tasks for seasonal marketing initiatives, such as updating marketing copy for fact sheets, organizing sell sheets, and pulling other marketing materials
  • Create and manage a series of monthly newsletters for imprints within Little, Brown
  • Project manage and write copy for marketing collateral, including promotional items, reading group guides, social media, graphics, email pitches, newsletters, etc.
  • Organize and execute mailings to bookstores and influencers
  • Manage Little, Brown’s GoodReads and NetGalley accounts
  • Manage the marketing team’s galley process
  • Produce graphic content including videos, social media quote cards, and ad hoc graphics using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or other design programs
  • Update and edit website via our content management system (Wordpress) as needed
  • Communicate with senior staff and various departments within HBG, influencers/media, booksellers, as well as authors and literary agents
  • Admin duties include: coordinate mailings, schedule meetings, record and distribute meeting minutes, database entry, and create and distribute weekly reports.
 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Interest in book publishing is essential, along with a strong interest in marketing.
  • College degree preferred, previous work/internship experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient with social media, graphic design, and content creation. Proficient in Canva, WordPress, Braze, Adobe Photoshop, and video editing preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management software preferred
  • Strong communication skills are essential (verbal and written)
  • The successful candidate must be able to work both independently, on assigned campaigns, and as part of a team.

The compensation range for this position is $47,500. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
