Hachette Book Group seeks an experienced Online National Account Manager to join our dynamic, hands-on Online Retail Sales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for selling and marketing third-party distribution client titles to Amazon.com and Amazon.ca, has a collaborative spirit and proven ability to multi-task, problem solve and think analytically.
Location: The role is NYC based. HBG's current hybrid working model is two days in the office per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow sales and profitability at Amazon.com and Amazon.ca for a range of distribution client lines.
- Optimize product listings to maximize conversion and sales, and advise client marketing and publishing teams on online sales and strategies as needed.
- Recommend and coordinate various promotions at Amazon including advertising and book deals
- Manage inventory levels and replenishment of physical inventory at Amazon.com including:
- Monitoring preorders and sales and adjusting estimates to reflect changes in customer demand and/or publicity/marketing
- Reviewing and managing incoming Amazon purchase orders, SDQs or other order prompts to align with expectations and evolving customer demand
- Submitting monthly editorial recommendations and seasonal title presentations
- Addressing high profile and urgent order requests
- Monitor and troubleshoot catalog integrity, product availability, and partner compliance for print and digital
- Liaise with Amazon editorial, merchandising, and operations teams
- Build and manage relationships with distribution clients and in-house distribution services team
- Conduct market research to stay informed about Amazon features, overall industry and competitor trends and customer preferences at Amazon
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- 3-5 years’ experience in Sales, with knowledge of Amazon Sales and Marketing tools preferred
- Experience in Publishing Sales a plus
- Advanced Excel skills (V-look ups; pivot tables; etc.), and high degree of comfort with PowerPoint and Outlook required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including working with large amounts of data
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings regardless of audience
- Must be results driven
- Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work product and demonstrate good follow up and follow through
- Proven ability to build supportive and constructive relationships within and outside of the organization
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through attention to detail

The compensation range for this position is $70,000-90,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
