About the role
Halter is one of the world’s fastest-growing agritech companies, and the most transformative technology available in pasture-based grazing. With Halter’s cattle collars and app, graziers can virtually fence and shift their cattle, and proactively monitor cattle locations and behavior. We’re looking for a hungry and driven salesperson to help grow Halter throughout Queensland. A ‘never give up’ attitude is crucial for this role. You’ll be crucial to the growth and success of Halter in Queensland, unlocking change for an entire industry.
Our Business Development reps say it’s such a privilege connecting new customers with Halter - the deep pride they have in seeing their customers thrive with Halter by running more productive and sustainable operations. To do this, you’ll use deep customer understanding and sales skills to drive the full sales process. You’ll convert customers by running a deep consultation with them about their operation, crafting a bespoke proposal and ROI with Halter. Make your mark with Halter and help unlock change in this essential industry.
Remote role - location needs to align with our target markets in South East Queensland, Toowoomba, or Southern Downs.
Travel is required to meet with graziers/farmers daily.
Halter in Australia
Halter started in New Zealand and is one of the fastest-growing companies in the country. Halter helps farmers manage over 250,000 animals across New Zealand, Australia and the US. In Australia, Halter entered Tasmania 2 years ago and has rapidly expanded to now have 20% of the state’s dairy herd with Halter - a thriving customer base, managed by a talented local team. Queensland is an incredible growth opportunity for Halter. The market opportunity for Halter is vast and the need for Halter is clear. Graziers, farmers, industry and environmental groups are looking to virtual fencing to improve productivity and sustainability. We recently launched our first customer in Queensland and we’re building out our team to launch dozens more. In Victoria, NSW and South Australia, Halter does not yet have customers but there is a groundswell of demand for Halter across thousands of farmers. In Australia, virtual fencing is regulated by individual states’ animal welfare legislation. Currently, these states have legislation that does not permit farmers to use high-quality virtual fencing technology. This legislation was set years before Halter existed, and virtual fencing technology has advanced considerably in recent years. These states are now reviewing their legislation and we are actively engaging with governments around modernizing this legislation.
