Arthrex is actively searching for a Crew Coordinator in our Hand Instrument Assembly Department. This position will support day shift operations (Monday through Thursday, 7:30 pm to 6 am). Main Objective: Assist Supervisor in the day to day activities within the Hand Instrument Department. In doing so, the Crew Coordinator takes on the role as a working lead. A Crew Coordinator will possess advanced technical knowledge of the production equipment and techniques, Arthrex products and processes present in the area, as well as fundamental leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs Assembly Tech I, II, and III duties as needed. Whenever possible, run production machines and assemble components in order to maintain productivity.
Assists in the daily mentoring and training of new hires and operators with the purpose of developing their technical skills to maintain safe and standard work habits within the production department.
Trains operators at all Assembly Tech levels for competency in accordance with the training matrix and related documents.
Verifies that production parts are within specification, randomly check the operator’s parts while still in process to help prevent non-conforming material moving to next operations.
Performs final inspection of paperwork.
Notifies Supervisor of any production, safety or performance issues as they arise.
Answers questions, instructs, and demonstrates techniques on matters directly related to machine operations, assembly techniques, policies and procedures, and safety protocol.
Must be highly organized, self-motivated and a role model.
Assumes responsibility for work accomplished on schedule and in accordance with job requirements.
Follows through on production priorities and assigns resources accordingly.
Requests additional material if necessary following established procedures.
Notifies Maintenance Department through SAP of equipment maintenance requirements.
Supports programs, policies, and procedures in order to help the growth of AMI as a world class medical device manufacturer.
Perform other duties as assigned by the shift supervisor.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
3 years of directly related training and/or experience in a manufacturing/assembly setting required.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Mechanical aptitude required.
Basic computer knowledge (Windows application) required.
Proficiency with measuring tools and instruments required.
Ability to understand and follow all established procedures required.
General knowledge of GDP, GMP’s and FDA regulations highly preferred.
Knowledgeable in set-up of all required tools and machines required.
Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods required.
Train the Trainer Certification or ability to achieve certification within 180 days of hire/transfer.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
Proficiency of hand instrument assembly equipment. Including but not limited to riveters, buffing machines, drill presses, sandblasters, and various hand tools.
Proficiency of precision measuring equipment. Including but not limited to gauges and inspection fixtures, pin gauges, Micro-vu, optical comparator, caliper, and micrometer.
