How You Will Contribute:

Reporting to the Senior Hardware Director, as a Hardware Engineer, you will be part of a team of hardware designers working on the design and development of fiber optic transceiver modules for PON applications, primarily 10Gbps - 25Gbps.

  • You will assemble, test, and debug analog and digital circuits.

  • You will manage electronic equipment calibration and record keeping.

  • You will perform tests and interpret results in order to make effective recommendations.

  • You will write reports, maintain the electronic lab with required equipment and supplies, and undertake preventative maintenance.

  • You will perform analysis, analog hardware and high-speed digital circuit and PCB design, modeling and simulations, characterization of optical and electrical performance.

  • You will be responsible for lab maintenance.

The Must Haves:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering coupled with in-depth working experience in the design and development of fiber optic transceiver modules, primarily for PON applications.

  • Experience in analog hardware and high-speed digital circuit design, PCB design, electrical characterization of optical and electrical circuits performance.

  • Proven debug and lab experience.

Assets:

  • Familiarity with Product Development methodology from concept, through design, to manufacturing.

  • In-depth understanding of fiber optics principles would be ideal, but willing to teach the right candidate.

  • Computer literate, programming skills a plus.
