THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly skilled Manager to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function. As a key contributor, you will drive the financial planning process and work closely with other senior leaders to develop financial forecasts and set performance benchmarks for HARTBEAT. This role will involve providing financial consulting and strategic support to senior management, including preparing budget versus actual analysis, departmental results analysis, cash flow projections, and other projects requested by leadership. This hands-on role requires deep expertise in financial modeling and the ability to present coherent analysis. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will play a vital role in propelling the financial success of our organization, cultivating, and maintaining a top-tier FP&A function.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and manage the financial planning and forecasting processes, encompassing annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term strategic plans.
• Define, track, and analyze financial content metrics and P&L models to set specific content performance goals and evaluate performance vs targets.
• Maintain and improve cash forecasting, conducting regular analysis to ensure financial health and liquidity.
• Analyze historical financial performance, market trends, and business drivers to facilitate the development of accurate forecasts and projections.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring financial performance aligns with set targets.
• Prepare detailed financial analyses, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and profitability assessments.
• Understand and forecast the components, drivers, and evolution of HARTBEAT's expenses accordingly.
• Identify and effectively communicate critical insights, risks, and opportunities to senior management, promoting informed decision-making.
• Coordinate with department heads to gather all relevant financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and present financial reports to management, investors, and other stakeholders on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Collaborate with accounting teams to guarantee accurate and timely financial reporting in line with all applicable regulations.
• Provide financial expertise to cross-functional teams, guiding business initiatives, investments, and cost optimization strategies.
• Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis for potential strategic initiatives, assessing their financial implications.
• Assist in the evaluation and execution of mergers and acquisitions, from financial due diligence to integration activities.
• Constantly review and enhance financial planning and analysis processes, methodologies, and tools, driving efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology, implementing enhancements to financial systems that streamline reporting and analysis.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
BA/BS degree in Finance, a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in FP&A with a preference for experience in the media & entertainment industry
Advanced proficiency in Excel, particularly with complex financial modeling, graphing, and high-impact visual presentations
Proficiency in NetSuite
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
A solid grasp of accounting principles with experience in compiling comprehensive three-way financial statements
Experiene with PowerBI and SQL is a great plus!
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks
Proven ability to establish rapport swiftly with a diverse range of individuals across the business
Comfort in navigating ambiguous situations and the demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment

COMPENSATION
Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and work location. In addition to the base salary, the compensation package for this role also includes a discretionary bonus, based on individual and company performance.
