Modeling Analyts/ Associate - Risk Management

Position SummaryHASI is currently seeking an Analyst or Associate with strong financial modeling and analytics experience to join our team in Annapolis, MD. This individual will work with the Risk Management Team in providing modeling support for transaction closings and HASI’s growing sustainable investment portfolio. The core responsibilities of the role will include building, auditing and managing financial models, and providing analytics support across the organization.ResponsibilitiesWork with a cross-functional finance team (Risk Management, Portfolio Management, Investments, Capital Markets, Accounting) to build, manage and manage financial models.Assist with tracking investment models and developing portfolio models.Support with developing, auditing, and improving financial models for Investments. Team transactions, invested portfolios, and other corporate functions.Work with the IT team to support their efforts on corporate-wide databases, datamining, and data analysis and utilize their expertise on model development.EducationBachelor’s degree from a four-year institution.Specific Recommended Knowledge and SkillsVery strong MS Excel financial modeling and data mining skills with demonstrable experience.develop and manage complex financial models, ideally involving structured debt/equity investments and tax equity partnership structures for wind/solar assets.Industry experience in finance or energy sectors, with familiarity with energy project finance transactions preferred.Experience with reporting tools like PowerBI, and Tableau, among others is a valuable plus.Some experience on coding/programming tools is preferred, such as VBA, Python, SQL, others.Desire to focus primarily on financial modeling and analytics.Demonstrated interest in sustainable investing.Attention to detail, team-oriented, collaborative.Strong work ethic and positive attitude.Excellent communication skills (including writing, speaking, and listening).Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment.
