Job Description :
Media Influencer Relations Meets and/or exceeds coverage goals as established by division VP Assists with contract negotiations for influencers, brand spokespersons, and celebrities Account Management Works with VP and client contacts on all elements of launching a new account (includes timelines/planning calendars, messaging architecture session, press kit materials, media training, chain of communications and approvals, etc.) Acts as a senior strategic partner who challenges clients with smart thinking and offers strategic guidance and client counsel Identifies key priorities/deliverables for clients and helps set and manage realistic expectations as part of day-to-day communications and dialogue Manages annual account reviews and new annual PR plans for continuing clients Oversees monthly activity reports Maintains strong client contact and creates new campaign ideas and initiatives Works with A/VP to regularly monitor client's program goals; addresses challenges... and successes in meeting goals, and reevaluates as necessary Identifies opportunities for incremental projects Actively participates in creative brainstorms in group and team meetings and may create action plans from recommendations Identifies and addresses issues before they become problems with clients (and staff) Team Management Mentoring Acts as a liaison between VP and junior team members; problem solves as needed Proactively communicates with senior management as to what you and the team need in order to be successful and proactively provides status updates and next steps Supervises team's tracking of trends and current events for clients to ensure consistent coverage and helps them develop story angles Communicates priorities on a daily and weekly basis to junior staff and ensures reports are submitted on time and deadlines are met Regularly monitors and manages team's billed hours for respective clients against monthly retainers Connects with each employee on a personal level, offering help and guidance in overcoming challenges, personal growth, etc. Assists with identifying potential new hires and may participate in recruitment process via interviews May be involved in developing and providing reviews for junior staffers May lead program development through team meetings and brainstorming sessions to generate new creative direction and improve client service in the absence of a A/VP Helps team process and improve their writing and presentation competencies Writing Editing Reviews and edits monthly and quarterly activity and media coverage reports as developed by junior staff and distributes to clients Final editor and reviewer of all press releases, pitch letters and communication materials written by junior team members prior to client distribution Contributes to the development of client presentations Events Campaigns Management Finalizes event and launch strategy documents Oversees end to end events execution and special campaigns and ensures all logistics are completed to the client standards Oversees event budgets and provides regular updates to client on event requirements New Business Assists VP with creative ideas for new business proposals May attend and present new business presentations, meetings and scouting opportunities (e.g., trade shows) May participate in new business proposals Agency Contributions Participates in agency's development programs Contributes positively to the culture, atmosphere & values & exudes a positive outlook on their team Establishes professional and respectful relationships with staff Monitors and records time in agency's system Skills & Abilities:
Ability to understand client brand category and landscape in order to deliver creative ideas that resonate with target audiences. Excellent presentation skills and comfortable speaking in front of groups. Staff- and client-respected leadership qualities demonstrating proven ability to lead by example. Possesses motivational capabilities in a highly pressurized environment. Is appropriate, approachable and fair, and creates valued relationships with staff. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a comfort level handling hot seat situations. Can meet tight deadlines and has an exceptional eye for details. Strong people management skills to include the ability to mentor staff and provide direction and objectives, performance counseling and skill building. Ability to manage up and down in the organization. Knowledge of when to rely on personal judgment and when to seek advice. Good delegation skills. Strong independence. Solid judgement, drive and influence. Entrepreneurial spirit, passion and intellectual curiosity. Must be collaborative and results driven. Strong writing (AP style), editing, listening and verbal communications skills. Resourceful and solutions focused. Capable of multitasking, prioritizing and organizing. Self-motivated and able to work well in a collaborative environment as well as individually. Effectively manages time and follow up. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and use development of media databases.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's Degree (communications, liberal arts, business or marketing focus preferred) Experience Seven to eight years of relevant PR experience Sound understanding of budgeting and finance management and experience managing a team and multiple client accounts. Successful track record of developing integrated public relations programs. Experience in influencer marketing and social media. Track record of successes and involvement in business development, agency management, relationship management (internal and external), client management (both amount of and type of clients), proven client satisfaction and budgeting ability. $100K -- $150K
