HHG has 3 manufacturing plants in Hawai'i, as well as the state's largest single macadamia farm.

POSITION SUMMARY:    

Mauna Loa, the Hawaiʻi-based leader of macadamia nuts, has continued to build out its mission of powering consumers to remake themselves and the world. As a company that’s been around for over 75 years, Mauna Loa has reinvented itself through purpose-led strategy, an award-winning visual identity overhaul that pays homage to its Hawaiʻi roots and disruptive innovation. 

 

The Mauna Loa Marketing Intern will support the Mauna Loa Marketing team in building brand presence for the largest macadamia brand in the United States. Responsibilities include assisting with strategic projects, shopper marketing initiatives, brand events, coordinating marketing materials and assisting with administrative marketing tasks. This role is based in Los Angeles, CA, with potential local travel for events. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist the Mauna Loa Marketing team with planning and executing marketing activations. 
  • Support shopper marketing campaigns, including retailer marketing material coordination, kit shipping, and status reporting. 
  • Coordinate event venues, suppliers, and liaise with vendors for brand activations. 
  • Represent Mauna Loa at various events, handling setup and breakdown. 
  • Manage inventory of marketing materials, assets, and promotional items. 
  • Contribute to campaign asset creation using consumer insights. 
  • Aid in budget management and organize shopper marketing plans across key retailers. 
  • Exemplify adherence to company policies and procedures while consistently upholding high standards in all responsibilities. 
  • Fulfill any additional duties or projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to meeting organizational needs. 
  • Attendance to certain events/tradeshows is required for this position. These events/tradeshows may require travel and may be outside of normal business day/hours. 
  • Regular attendance is required for the position. 


Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
  • Must be a college student and currently enrolled at an accredited university, pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, PR (Public Relations), or Business. 
  • Strong grasp of social media, digital culture, and the latest trends across major platforms. 
  • Effective cross-functional collaborator with excellent communication and influence skills. 
  • Demonstrated leadership in academic or professional projects. 
  • Ability to thrive in an unstructured, results-oriented environment and make quick decisions. 
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for giving and receiving constructive feedback. 
  • Self-motivated and reliable, with a proactive approach to communication and progress updates. 
  • Familiarity with consumer-packaged goods (CPG) is a plus. 
  • Eye for design and basic graphic design knowledge. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint; experience with Canva and video-editing software is a major plus. 
  • Flexibility to travel locally as required.

$17.30 - $20 an hour
