That said, we employ dedicated, specialist teams in the areas of healthcare (life sciences), shipping (maritime) and real estate, where we believe our focused expertise provides an advantage. 

We operate across all major European geographies with headquarters in London, and ten offices globally including in Frankfurt, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Singapore, and New York.

Team profile

The IT department supports our business and IT processes, contributes to the design and delivery of software and data solutions aimed at improving our business processes and gain practical experience working with key stakeholders and third party partnerships to improve our IT services.  

This role forms part of our summer internship programme. This role will offer you the opportunity to be part of a team responsible for all geographical locations across Hayfin. You will work closely with a supervisor in the team.

In this role you will be responsible for:

·       Learning the basics of programming languages, technologies, and skills to a proficient and certified level.

·       Analysing requirements and contribute to solution design to meet our goals and objectives as standalone changes or as part of a broader programme of work.

·       Understanding and complying with our delivery lifecycle for assigned project work.

·       Documenting and demonstrating solutions using flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

·       Reviewing, communicating, and working to resolve any impediments or technical challenges encountered whilst developing solutions.

·       Learning good practice through supporting the review, analysis and testing of code and solutions. 

·       Monitoring systems, responding to incidents and problems proactively or work on those assigned in an appropriate and timely manner.

·       Being accountable for the quality of project work and any assigned deliverables.

·       Learning and participating in establishing and improving DevOps, CI/CD, Test Automation, use of backlogs and sprint planning.

We’re looking for someone who:

·       Proven outstanding academic track record, undertaking a Bachelor or Masters degree in a business, engineering, or scientific discipline. Has a career plan to develop technology skills, software delivery or data science.

·       Demonstrates technical understanding of basic programming, databases, and analytics.

·       Demonstrates commercial awareness and understanding of financial services industry.

·       Has a proven track record of using MS Office products, especially proficiency in MS Excel.

·       Communicates fluently in English, both verbally and written.
