Security Operations Intern (Summer 2025)

HBK Capital Management is seeking an Information Security Intern to join its Information Technology team. This internship provides hands-on experience in information security, allowing interns to contribute to real-world projects in a collaborative environment.

Skills

Familiarity with basic security concepts and tools
Fundamental knowledge of networking including DNS and DHCP
Fundamental knowledge of operating systems and basic troubleshooting
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong customer service experience

Responsibilities

Assist in monitoring and analyzing security systems and tools to identify potential vulnerabilities or threats
Collaborate with the InfoSec team to assess and mitigate security risks across the organization
Participate in the development and execution of security policies, procedures, and guidelines
Contribute to security awareness and training initiatives for employees
Assist in conducting regular security assessments and audits
Research and stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and best practices
Support incident response efforts, including analysis and documentation
Partner with engineering teams on new security solutions and services
Utilize configuration management to maintain system integrity consistent with their defined state
Partner with the patch management team to ensure systems are properly patched and secured
