Unlock your potential!Job SummaryJob Summary and QualificationsAssists ACFO and CFO with all aspects of financial analysis and accounting. The Senior Financial Analyst plays a leadership role within the Finance Department, leading a financial analysis team and serving as a mentor to other Financial Analysts. Key position responsibilities include financial accounting and analysis, and budget development and reporting. The Senior Financial Analyst will utilize generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and healthcare financial accounting and reporting standards to perform annual audit preparation and to maintain hospital internal systems and controls. The Senior Financial Analyst works closely with employees and leaders across the Las Palmas Del Sol Market.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES• Financial Reporting• Assist Controller with the analysis of the monthly financial statements during (and immediately after) the close process. Ensure that the data is materially correct, considering recent trends. Investigate, and understand the reasons for unusual or unexpected trends, both favorable and unfavorable. (High Risk, High Volume)• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports as requested. Obtain a thorough knowledge of the data that is available from corporate systems and a thorough knowledge of how to access this data via the most efficient means (Business Objects, Vista, etc.). Assist Controller with proforma preparation for new business development projects.• In absence of the Controller, prepare monthly SMA (Standard Monthly Accrual) and month end reports. Investigate, and understand the reasons for unusual variances to budget and prior months, both favorable and unfavorable. (High Risk, High Volume)• Assist Controller with the monthly tracking and reporting of the Performance Improvement Tracker.• Measures actual performance against operating plans/standards and interprets the results for all levels of management.• Responds to all levels of management as needed for information requests as they relate to financial statements, budgets, projections, and other Accounting related areas.• Researches and calculates the impact of operational changes to budget, financial data, financial systems, etc. and the impact of the changes to the organization.• Oversees annual financial processes throughout the organization; including but not limited to developing and providing training and instructions, timelines, reports, and recommendations for improvement.• Financial Controls• Assist Controller in establishing a control system for identifying and investigating significant financial statement fluctuations from month to month. Ensure the fluctuations are understood and any errors are corrected before they result in material misstatements. (High Risk, High Volume)• Assist CAO in conducting balance sheet reviews during month end close to ensure the balance sheet is reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policy. In coordination with the CAO, assist Controller and/or CFO, in reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and the monthly Balance Sheet Review Guide. (High Risk, High Volume)• Assist ACFO and CAO with the preparation and review of the semi-annual internal control checklist. At a minimum, utilize this review process to identify financial control deficiencies. (High Risk, Low Volume)• Monitor Capital Spend by preparing monthly reports for Executive Team. Ensure that Capital dollars are expended in accordance with Division and Company policy.• Assist CFO and ACFO with development and analysis of annual operating budgets.• Assist ACFO with the annual inventory process, reconciliation and entry.• Management Controls & Support• Assist Directors/Managers with reviews of the departmental operation reports (DOR), labor management (PLUS), and any other financial inquires/assistance needed.• Assist with developing and reviewing business plans and pro forma for various hospital strategies.• Provides general assistance and guidance to the Finance Analyst teams:• Train and help educate new staff and provide ongoing training to existing staff; answer questions regarding team functions and assist with team direction• Actively mentor other colleagues by contributing experience and insight to the team• Manage large programs or financial processes of significant complexity and risk.• Other Duties as Assigned.What qualifications you will need:Bachelors Degree - Accounting or Business7+ years of experience4 + years Healthcare experience preferredLas Palmas Del Sol Healthcare is the leading healthcare provider for El Paso and the surrounding region.
