HDR is hiring a Senior Highway Project Manager for our Orlando, Florida office.
Primary Responsibilities
• Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out)
• Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers
• Responsible for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff
• Prepare and oversee the following elements of various sizes of contract plans, specifications and estimates: roadway sections, alignment/right-of-way plans, temporary erosion control plans, site preparation plans, roadway profiles, drainage plans and profiles, utility plans, paving, pavement marking plans, signing plans, traffic control plans
• Manage moderate to large projects
• Manage the following work elements: day-to-day communication (verbal and written) with the client, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants, keep project on schedule and within budget, and keep client satisfied
• Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders
• Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
• Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
• Support marketing efforts to develop client relationships, develop pursuit capture plans, prepare proposals, attend interviews, and prepare project technical and price proposals
• Use client relations to support growth of highway design projects in the area
• Preparation of scopes, budgets and schedules
• Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
• Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule
• Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
• Implement QAQC procedures
• Perform other duties as needed
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• A minimum of 10 years related experience
• A minimum 5 years of project management experience
• PE license - must be a Florida license or have the ability to obtain it within 6 months
• Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

• Master's degree
