Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties of the Substation Structural Project Engineer are to conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications for structural and civil engineering projects related substation design.• Self-starter with demonstrated ability to perform structural and civil engineering calculations with minimal supervision.• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard engineering codes, techniques, and procedures.• Participate and lead civil structures condition assessments and demonstrated report writing ability.• Analyze available project information, formulate work processes and execute work within schedules and budgets.• Work independently on projects or with teams on larger projects.• Interface with internal and external clients.• A mix of project management as related to technical work assignments, field work and some overnight travel will be required.Required Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering• PE• Minimum of 5 years structural engineering experience• Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred Qualifications• Masters Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred.• Computer knowledge of structural analysis programs (STRUDL, RISA, REVIT Structural, RAM Structural System; Enercalc, LPILE, MFAD) and Microsoft Office is a plus.Why HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for it's also about what you do and how you do it.
