About the Role
Ensuring the safety and well-being of our people and our visitors, safe keeping of our intellectual property, and strict adherence to operating within the spirit and letter of regulatory requirements in all of the countries and communities we work make for a complex risk management environment. We are seeking a new Head of Global Security to provide leadership in managing our Global Security program so that it appropriately addresses these issues within an evolving risk framework. The ideal candidate will be a partner that brings a global mindset and is adept at leveraging a variety of resources and technology to lead this global function.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will report to the Global Head of Workplace Services, within Finance & Administration, and work in close partnership with leaders of risk management functions including the CFO, Information Security, Internal Audit, Employee Relations, Legal & Enterprise Risk, Real Estate, and Business Continuity Planning/Vendor Risk Management. This position can be based in either Boston or New York City.
  • Develop an enhanced physical access management program that is adaptable to all our locations that monitors the well-being of people within our space, complies with regulatory requirements, and manages external crime and safety risks
  • Manage 24x7x365 global security operations center
  • Provide background investigations in support of employee and vendor on-onboarding processes and other regulatory compliance processes.
  • Provide appropriate executive protection resources for travelers and visitors and partner with Corporate Access to manage needs of security details that accompany outside visitors
  • Partner with Heads of Office worldwide to establish local incident management protocols which include developing ongoing local relationships with government and private industry resources to help gauge emerging geopolitical risks.
  • Work closely with the heads Information Security, 3rd Party/Vendor Risk and Business Continuity Planning to establish and manage Incident Command framework
  • Work with Risk leaders throughout the firm to help establish and support an integrated Crisis Response framework
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
This is an entrepreneurial role which requires creativity, intellectual curiosity, comfort with ambiguity, and an advanced ability to frame issues, ask questions, identify important points, and develop solutions.
The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualifications:
  • Demonstrable (minimum 15+ years) relevant professional experience in leading a Global Security team in the private or public sector. Financial services industry experience is desired but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to play a key role in guiding the direction of the business, and as a thought partner to other senior leaders on risk management matters
  • Must have experience managing a global function
  • Outstanding collaboration and teamwork skills, able to work successfully and build trust with very experienced leaders, and with multiple functions across the globe
  • Proven experience in gathering intelligence from local and federal law enforcement agencies as well as from relationships with peers in other firms
  • Highly organized, able to multitask, prioritize and complete multiple projects simultaneously, focused on results and willing to roll up their sleeves to get things done.
  • Executive presence to effectively represent the function within the firm as well as to auditors, clients, and regulators.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage performance using metrics. Must be skilled with using technology as a tool in problem solving and program management.
  • Ability to excel at managing outsourced service providers to leverage knowledge and enhance services.

We strive to pay employees fairly and competitively across all levels and roles. Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
USD 100,000 - 225,000
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible. In addition, we offer a comprehensive and high value benefit package to meet the unique needs of our employees and their families.
