Head of Marketing & Sales

Our company

Moxie enables nurses to become entrepreneurs, and grow successful, independent businesses. MedSpas are booming, regulated practices that provide aesthetics services like botox, fillers, and more.

Today, 80% of them in the US are individually owned and operated and we want to keep it that way. We provide our entrepreneurs the tools and expertise to operate with the scale of a large chain while remaining independent.

We are a well-funded seed-stage company with many happy customers and are now scaling up revenue. That’s where you come in.

The role

We’re looking for a Head of Marketing & Sales who can turn our rapid pace of expansion into a predictable growth machine.

Today, our marketing machine is reliant on a small number of channels: you’ll both take over those channels, and build and execute on a pipeline of experiments to deepen our reach. You’ll build a model for what we need to do to continue our steady quarter/quarter growth and report on variance from that model. You’ll constantly ask what we can do to grow faster.

Our sales team currently exclusively works to close inbound leads. You’ll manage and motivate the sales team, give regular feedback, and drive consistent sales performance. Over time, you’ll test and build the outbound muscle as well.

The team you’ll take over initially has four people on it, but we expect you to grow that team significantly over your first year.

Our objectives for the role

  • Broaden & professionalize our marketing

    • Take over and expand our existing marketing channels

    • Build and execute a pipeline of marketing experiments

    • Start investing into the Moxie brand

  • Scale up a strong sales function

    • Refine the existing sales funnel and process

    • Test and scale outbound sales

  • Develop an excellent team

    • Lead the sales and marketing teams to deliver on predictable growth

    • Create a high performance culture in which each team member feels like they can do their best work

  • Develop and grow our company

    • You’ll report to our CEO

    • Shape company strategy, operating plan, and product roadmap

We’re looking for:

  • You’ve done this job successfully at an early-stage company, driving growth in the business from $1M -> $10M

  • You have a track record of turning ambiguous opportunities into predictable growth drivers

  • You’re deeply data-driven, and can quickly decode reports to understand what’s driving out-performance or under-performance

  • You’re an excellent manager and leader

Compensation Range: $160K - $225K
