The Head of Product & Business Planning sets and maintains the overall Connectivity SBU (strategic business unit) strategy to deliver on the goals of the overall Automotive Division. Thought leader within the SBU, being the point person for assessing strategic initiatives at all levels and developing impactful strategies to achieve the SBU’s goals. The person in this role is responsible for reviewing business’ current strategy and goals to identify its potential strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
You will interact with Business Leaders from Product and Projects Scope and Delivery teams.
Define HARMAN’s strategy for the SBU Connectivity and its alignment with the overall Automotive Strategy
Drive the ideation process in the SBU
Define a governance model for the strategy practice and establish a regular cadence of reporting progress to HARMAN senior management and board
Define milestones and success criteria through metrics and work in close collaboration with multiple businesses within the SBU to drive overall success
Use market research, data and insight to understand target audiences, shape strategic thinking and drive tactical execution of this vision
Drive the development, analytics and presentation of competitive data important to the decision-making process of the Executive team across the SBU.
Use understanding of the market and technology trends to conceptualize new products that drive a unique in-cabin experience for end consumers
Build relationships with strategy teams of HARMAN’s customers and represent HARMAN’s Point of View on the future of the SBU.
Work with M&A team to evaluate potential and identify target M&A opportunities
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration management, economics, or related fields.
15+ years of experience in strategic business planning, product management, business development, and/or sales
Experience in driving transformation across a global organization
Strong management, leadership, and communication skills
Strong analytical experience to be able to track metrics, use research and analytics
Creative mindset
Influence ability to inspire and drive change
Be willing to travel up to 30%, domestic and international travel
Be willing to work in an office in North America
Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
The standard base salary range for this position is $250k-$300k
Flexible work environment, allowing for full-time remote work globally for positions that can be performed outside a HARMAN or customer location
