Head of Sales & Growth

We're looking for a Sales and Growth leader to help us accomplish our mission to improve lives by learning from the experience of every cancer patient. In this role, you’ll lead our growth-focused team members focused on expanding our footprint in Independent Oncology, and breaking ground in new markets, including Hospitals, Health Systems and Payers. What You'll Do

In this role, you'll lead our Sales & Growth team. You’ll focus on expanding our footprint and impact in community oncology technology & services, where we are the market leader. You’ll also identify and pursue new, greenfield markets including Hospitals, Health Systems and Payers. As the leader of Sales & Growth, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the expansion of the Flatiron business and our overall operational objectives.

Your role will span driving sales excellence and quota attainment across our existing business lines and Sales team members, plus objective and strategy setting for our new market entry initiatives and team. In the community oncology market, you will lead your team to sell our revenue cycle management service alongside the OncoCloud™ suite of products and services to clinicians and administrators. In Hospitals & Health Systems, Payer, and other new growth areas, you will collaborate closely with our Product, Marketing, Sales Operations, Finance and Business Development teams to define your team’s goals, and lead your team to establish successful go-to-market plans and partnerships in these new markets.

In addition, you will lead the following initiatives:

Strategic Market Development 

  • In collaboration with our executive team, define our growth strategy across Independent Oncology, Hospitals & Health Systems, and Payer markets
  • Work with Product and operations teams to design product offerings that drive value for customers across the oncology landscape, including advocating for investments that allow Flatiron to use our competitive advantages to drive value for clients and revenue for Flatiron
  • Contribute deep knowledge of the competitive landscape to better position our solutions in the marketplace and share that knowledge with internal teams to inform strategy
  • Build a sales team made up of compelling storytellers who convey the value that partnership with Flatiron can create to clients and prospects
  • Work closely with Marketing to create go to market content, including identifying targets and creating supportive content that generates interest in Flatiron’s products and services with existing clients and new prospects

Sales Team Leadership

  • Create sales targets for each product line that increase flatiron’s market share or improve contribution margin
  • Define a best in class consultative sales process that enables the team to drive sales to close and meet targets
  • Effectively manage all relevant sales activities including but not limited to sales plan development, pipeline management, and partnering with Marketing on lead generation activities
  • Provide timely and complete reporting information and updates on the status of your team’s sales plans, pipeline growth and sales progress as determined by the HC Leadership team
  • Continuously gather information, analyze and develop strategies concerning client and prospective client business dynamics, including stakeholder management and mapping
  • Lead complex negotiations, including creating and delivering customized, strategic presentations and proposals, to get to yes

This role reports into the Vice President Sales and Service. Your team’s territory spans oncology clinics and cancer centers across the US, as well as domestic Hospitals & Health Systems, and Payers.

Who You Are

You have exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to set a strong vision and goals for your team, and hold the team accountable for delivery. You have deep consultative selling experience, and are an effective coach and mentor for other sales professionals. You have clear and compelling communication skills and ability to tell a persuasive story to all levels of our client’s organizations. You share our passion for tackling one of the most complex medical and technological challenges of our time. We are looking for sales leaders who are excited about changing the world of oncology and healthcare. You also bring the following capabilities and experience to the role:

  • 10+ years of experience leading a sales organization in healthcare, ideally selling a revenue cycle management offering, electronic health record, or services based consulting
  • Demonstrated track record of sales achievement and leadership in previous roles, including establishing a market-entry plan, and momentum in new markets
  • Exceptional collaboration skills with key stakeholders, including Marketing, Sales Operations, Product, Finance and Account Management. Leaders in these roles have sought you out for collaboration and partnership, and they speak highly of your leadership and expertise
  • You are adept at developing a detailed sales strategy and execution plan, including collaborating with Sales Operations on quota development, incentive compensation for your team, and projecting business impact of your team’s efforts. You set and achieve ambitious goals
  • You’re a collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact
  • You are willing to travel up to ~50% of your time
