Health Business Analyst - Commercial Analytics - REMOTE

What Is Your impact?
As an Analyst you will support a diverse range of projects within Commercial Markets Analytics. You will be accountable for identifying and quantifying key drivers for the Health Business, investigating areas of opportunity, creating reports, evaluating effectiveness, and making recommendations.

Our Analytics Department supports many key functional areas across the organization including Actuarial, Care Management, HEDIS, Network Management, Value-based Contracting, Provider Performance, Risk Adjustment, the Federal Employee Program and more, requiring the development of analytical approaches, conclusions, and effective communication to various targeted audiences.

The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills, experience working with large data sets, great communication skills and a natural curiosity to understand health insurance informatics and favorable member outcomes.

What Are Your Key Responsibilities?

  • Analyze data and use analytical tools and techniques
  • Analyze or assist in the analysis of processes and programs in achieving stated goals. Provide analyses and recommendations if corrections are needed. Investigates and discovers areas of opportunity
  • Monitor and evaluate patterns, costs, and trends
  • Produce basic spreadsheets, documents and presentations that are well-documented and easy to follow (e.g., Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Write basic SAS and/or SQL programs for data extraction. Modifies existing programs for data extraction
  • Proactively seeks training and builds knowledge/experience of tools, languages, and data sources
  • The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned

What is REQUIRED?

  • Related Bachelor’s degree OR 4 complete years of additional related equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years related work experience
  • Experience with analytics and inferential statistics
  • Experience writing SQL or SAS code or related code (e.g., R, Python, and Tableau)
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to manage tasks independently, take ownership of responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

What Is PREFERRED?

  • Bachelor’s degree Business Analytics, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Health Economics, or similar program
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • General knowledge and experience in the healthcare industry
  • Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and practices

General Physical Demands:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

To support your financial wellbeing, we offer competitive pay as well as opportunities for incentive or commission compensation. We also conduct regular annual reviews with pay for performance considerations for base pay increases.

Annualized Salary Range: $66,400 - $107,900

Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $66,400 - $83,000

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
