Position Overview:
This is our first Lead Platform Engineering opening within our growing technology department. We are seeking an experienced developer who can define key pieces of architecture for services at Henry Meds. Much of the work you will be tasked with is greenfield beginnings, you will help improve the developer experience overall for commonly used service platforms and high-level pieces of infrastructure! As a Lead Platform Engineer, you will work closely with our Director of Engineering and IT to create these control frameworks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Architecting and building our core infrastructure.
- On-going auditing of least privilege permissions and security best practices.
- Help architect out best practices for event-based architecture.
- Work closely with the Director of IT to ensure the effective implementation, operation, and sampling of applicable control frameworks, including HIPAA and SOC2.
- Building Internal Documentation for the tools and services that we develop.
You will likely have:
- 8+ years experience as a Platform Engineer, Developer, or DevOps Engineer.
- You have designed, built, scaled and maintained production services.
- A proactive ownership mentality, constantly improving platform resilience and efficiency.
- You have built systems on GCP.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or an IAC equivalent to manage production environments.
- Experience designing and implementing serverless architectures.
- Proficiency with cloud-native development patterns and practices.
- Experience with multi-cloud resilience, auto scaling rules, and CDNs.
- Experience with off site backup solutions.
- You write high quality, well tested code.
- You can be hands-on when needed – writing/reviewing code or technical documents, participating in on-call rotations and leading incidents, or triaging/troubleshooting bugs.
- Strong understanding of cloud security and compliance requirements.
You may have:
- Rapid growth in your company (from 10 to 100s of engineers).
- Deep knowledge of GCP serverless offerings (Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run)
- Experience with event-driven architectures and pub/sub systems
- Familiarity with managed database services (Cloud SQL, BigQuery)
- Hands-on experience with CloudBuild.
- Experience with multiple cloud architectures, colocated, and on-prem solutions.
- Prior experience building platform tooling, or component libraries/systems.
- A focus on C# application development.
