Hero Journey Club (www.herojourney.club) provides community-based mental health support inside of virtual gathering spaces to address loneliness and mental health for kids, teens and adults. We host weekly group sessions inside of video games like Minecraft to meet members where they already spend time, facilitated by credentialed facilitators.

Journey Guides (Therapists) are trained facilitators who lead online mental wellbeing and socioemotional learning (SEL) classes and activities, which run from 6 to 8 people per group and meet for 60 mins per week inside of Minecraft. They are responsible for leading group sessions, fostering group cohesion, and creating a safe and productive place for individuals to learn more about themselves and how to address their needs in a subclinical atmosphere. This role is an opportunity to participate in an innovative approach to providing education on essential topics, you won't find an experience like this anywhere else.
Avid love and aptitude for playing for video games
Experience with working remotely on Zoom and other online tools (e.g., Google and Microsoft productivity tools, Notion or similar, etc)
Desire to maintain a part-time schedule at 10 to 25 total hours a week (most groups run between 5:00-10:00pm est)
Test and support innovative methods grounded in evidence-based practice
Flexibility with non-traditional work hours such as afternoons and evenings
Master's Degree in Counseling or Therapy with a focus on adolescents and teens (e.g. Psychological Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, or Professional Counseling, or related mental health Master's degree)
Current and former experience working with adolescents and teens aged 8 to 17
Current or former experience leading groups in a therapeutic or educational environment
License eligible or independent license as a LMHC, LPC, LCPC, LPCC, LMFT, LCSW, or equivalent
Experience with virtual care/use of digital platforms
Experience with neurodivergent and/or LGBTQIA+ communities
Current experience with Minecraft, Roblox, and/or Fortnite a plus
