Are you a welder who is passionate about high technology and production specific processes?
Valmet is searching for a Hood Fabricator/Welder III. You will be responsible for performing welding and fabrication work, which requires extensive knowledge of techniques and procedures as they relate to fabricating, assembling, and welding hoods for our HONEYCOMB ROLL®. The role holder is expected to read drawings, exercise judgment, and use skills to attain accuracy and conformance to specifications with minimal supervision.
What will you do at Valmet?

Select material from stock according to specifications.

Operate equipment, including presses, welders and cutting tools, as well as use an overhead crane and attach rigging.

Assemble and weld hoods and other air system components using fixtures and techniques to ensure proper dimensions.

Attaches rigging and operates overhead crane and/or lift truck to move parts to fabrication or assembly area.

Set up and operate GMAW, GTAW, SMAW and handheld laser welders to proper parameters for each weld.

Use 6S principles to maintain order and cleanliness throughout the fabrication process.

Have a willingness to work overtime to meet delivery schedules.
Requirements:

Two-year technical college degree in manufacturing technology or equivalent formal training program.

Minimum of 2 years related fabrication experience.

Experience performing GMAW, GTAW and SMAW welding processes on stainless steel.

Ability to read and understand complex drawings and various types of measuring instruments.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
