Housecall Pro is a fintech company founded in 2013. We built a SaaS platform that helps Home Service Professionals operate their businesses. We created the application for plumbers, electricians, and other Pros in the home improvement/trades industries.

Housecall Pro is a simple, cloud-based field service management software platform aimed at helping companies keep track of jobs, monitor technician activity, and produce invoices easily.

As a Senior Software Engineer - WordPress, you are responsible for managing WordPress environments for all brand sites. You are an excellent communicator with the ability to speak clearly with peers and executives alike, tailoring your message to the audience. You support all teams creating and optimizing content for their websites. You work closely with the SEO and experimentation teams to identify and improve the user experience and overall performance of the website. 

On this team, you develop strategies to rapidly execute, iterate, and optimize performance of the growth marketing website experience. Our team is passionate, empathetic, hard working, and above all else focused on improving the lives of our service professionals (our Pros). Our success is their success.

In your daily routine, you will: 

• Monitor and troubleshoot website issues related to SEO and user experience
• Use A/B testing tools to measure and report on the performance of experiments
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Conduct code reviews and architectural reviews for features developed by other members of the team
• Build new sites, components, and pages using Advanced Custom Fields in WordPress
• Create prototype mockups for web pages, promos, and forms
• Support website testing plans to increase website and full funnel conversions 
• Establish documentation for best practices around plugin requirements, deployment processes, and site security
• Monitor plugin and theme security vulnerabilities, and run quality assurance / deploy content for production
• Run weekly updates and manage backend administration: DNS, Website Routing, and Security
•  Handle gated content (download, upload, create CTAs) and conversion points to access content
• Manage conversion data via cross-functional teams and databases

We think that this offer is for you if you:

• ✅4+  years of professional programming experience (RoR, PHP)
• ✅Advanced knowledge of Javascript and development tools and libraries
• ✅Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering program, or equivalent work experience
• ✅Experience working on a website built with a CMS (i.e. Wordpress, Strapi, Contentful)
• ✅Strong understanding of building and consuming REST API’s
• ✅Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• ✅Knowledge of performance optimization techniques, caching mechanisms, and content delivery networks (CDNs)

🔝And also, you get extra points for:

• ✔ Experience with experimentation tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, etc)
• ✔ Experience with Advanced Custom Fields or similar tools
• ✔ Fluency with modern JavaScript
