Description
Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a skilled nursing Facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Veterans. Our mission is to serve Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Housekeeper who possesses the desire to care for Kentucky’s Veterans.

Skills and expectations for this position include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain a clean, safe, orderly, comfortable, sanitary attractive environment.
  • Maintain records of maintenance and cleaning of assigned areas and supply usage.
  • Assist in the Laundry department as needed.
This job requires mandatory COVID 19 vaccination or an approved exemption in accordance with CMS-3415-IFC from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This means if appointed to the position, the applicant must have completed the primary vaccination series for COVID-19, which means the administration of a single-dose vaccine or the administration of all required doses of a multi-dose vaccine upon commencement of employment. The vaccine received must be one of the FDA-approved or FDA-authorized vaccines. Proof of vaccination will be required. If a medical or religious exemption is sought, the candidate must submit paperwork to the employer prior to appointment for review and approval.

This position, in the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center Housekeeping Services Department, Jessamine County has an approved Locality Premium of $5.89 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).

Working Conditions
May risk exposure to chemicals associated with cleaning supplies or burns in operation of laundry machinery.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
