About Logansport State Hospital:

Logansport State Hospital is a state-operated inpatient psychiatric hospital for adults with mental illness. Using an interdisciplinary approach and evidence-based programming, we promote recovery and return of the individual to the community.

About the Job:

A housekeeper performs general cleaning duties in state agencies, facilities or offices ranging in size.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

• Cleans restrooms, sinks and mirrors
• Mops and waxes floors
• Dusts and polishes furniture
• Washing windows, blinds and walls
• Distributes paper towels, bathroom tissue, paper cups, cleansing agent, etc.
• Requisitions, distributes and stores supplies
• Reports needed repairs of equipment and facility

What You'll Need for Success:

• Working knowledge of the proper care of, and ability to use, cleaning equipment such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, power scrubbers, polishers and buffers
• Working knowledge of the variety and uses of cleaning and sanitizing agents
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Assists in training new employees and complete necessary reports and order forms
• Effectively communicates, both orally and in writing

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.

Salary: This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $26,312. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.
