Human Resources (HR) Assistant
As the Human Resource Assistant, you will assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department, including fielding employee inquiries, recruiting, filing, onboarding/offboarding, and data entering.
To be successful, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 4 years of administrative experience or equivalent experience in a Human Resource role is required.
- Knowledge of business and administrative management practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of and experience in standard human resource practices is strongly desired.
- Knowledge of business and administrative management practices and procedures
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage time to complete daily and weekly tasks as well as special projects
We also expect you to have:

- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to get CPR and First Aid certificate within 11 days of the start date and maintain a current certificate
- Must clear a Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background check, including fingerprinting before the start date, and maintain clearance
- Must clear a health screening, including TB, before the start date and maintain clearance
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to work in a Community Care Licensed Facility
- Must be able to drive, have a valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record.
- Meet and maintain the minimum vehicle liability and property insurance limits (to be insured by our insurance carrier for transportation of residents)
Your responsibilities as the HR Assistant will include:
- Answer and route incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally
- Recruiting: post jobs, source resumes, screen candidates, schedule interviews, create offer letters, authorization to hire forms
- Coordinate employee training plans, employee development plans, and leadership training
- Process new hires and separations: CDSS verifications, OIG verifications, CCL documents, IT
- Maintain employee personnel files and complete filing
- Support the staff potlucks and other employee events as assigned
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures for opening and closing the office daily
- Support Human Resources with organizational duties, including creating/updating reports and charts
- Ensure that the office supplies inventory is maintained at average amounts coordinating with all locations
- Provide and coordinate administrative support between all admin, volunteer, and intern staff as needed
- Assist with employee electronics inventory management: assign and collect computers/phones/hotspots/keys
- Process incoming and outgoing mail
- Other duties as assigned
