HR Compensation Analyst

Egnyte is seeking a Compensation Analyst with strong analytical and operational experience, who is passionate about Global Compensation design and administration, including Pay for Performance, Total Rewards, and data-driven analytics of competitive market benchmarks. Egnyte is focused on building the programs, process, infrastructure, and analytics to ensure global rewards and recognition are positioned competitively and aligned with our internal values. This role will foster trusted relationships with cross-functional partners and internal stakeholders to ensure our compensation practices are attracting and retaining top talent.

This position reports directly to the Global Head of Compensation, HR Sr. Director Pay for Performance, and will work in a data-focused team working on cyclical compensation events and ad-hoc projects. The right person works best in a collaborative environment where coworkers all help each other, is a positive go-getter who is happy to ask questions and has the initiative to find answers. This is not a role where you’re simply sitting behind the scenes crunching numbers - although that is part of the job, so you should love data and be an excel wiz!

Contributions of this role include (but is not limited to)

  • Thought partner to our Compensation team. Prepares and evaluates job descriptions, market ranges, job levels, and helps maintain the integrity of Egnyte’s compensation structure and programs (annual compensation review, bonus programs, sales incentive programs, and stock administration).
  • Process: Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures; recommends plan revisions and new plans which are cost effective and consistent with compensation best practices, trends and corporate objectives. Ensures programs align with business objectives and complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including FLSA statute
  • Surveys: Participates in salary surveys - including data audits, validation, benchmarking and recommending additional compensation data sources, and participates in the completion of salary survey submissions
  • Data/Systems: Obtains a thorough understanding of our data sources, integrations, and data collection methods. Ensures data integrity, performs calculations, audits, and forecasting in support of compensation programs
  • Analytics/Reporting: Prepares regular and ad-hoc compensation-related reports/metrics/dashboard - works with the broader team to automate processes and reporting. Analyzes trends in compensation and builds intelligence through reporting. Develops compensation models and conducts statistical analysis. Assists in developing tools to help model, interpret, and analyze internal and external data. Applies expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and help inform, influence, support, and execute business decisions
  • Customer Service: Responds to and assists stakeholders (Managers, HRBPs, Recruiters) with compensation related issues/inquiries within established SLAs. Provides support related to ongoing salary administration, including assisting with the review and execution of individual pay decisions. Act as SME for job leveling by providing expert consulting on compensation industry job matches. Confidentiality is paramount
  • HR & other: In this position, you will also assist with other areas of HR:
    • Assist and back up other generalists as needed and cross train for full knowledge of HR workings
    • Lead special projects periodically to enhance learning and growth. Oversight of projects such as developing action plans, defining system requirements, creating communication plans, presenting data to management/leadership, and launching and closing processes
    • Partner with HR Ops, Finance, Analytics, and HRIS teams to gather information and help tell our story with data-driven numbers
    • Provide compensation support to Leadership, Recruiting and Business Partners
    • Performs other duties as requested or assigned

Requirements (what it takes to succeed)

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably HR, business, finance, econ, stats, mathematics, or other related focus)
  • 2+ years of recent, relevant business experience (Compensation, HR)
  • Strong time management and project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment - adaptability, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while effectively managing multiple priorities and changing organizational needs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - excited to think outside the box to solve problems
  • Experience using and maintaining a HRIS a must; experience with ADP WFN (Workforce Now) a plus
  • A passion for analytics - capable of distilling meaningful data from noise and able to bring clarity
  • A methodical approach to work, critical thinking, attention to detail, and accuracy are required for this role. Impeccable attention to detail, as work will be seen by leadership and the Board
  • Solid experience (and examples of) having worked with compensation surveys including data audits, validation, benchmarking and recommending additional compensation data sources
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (e.g. working knowledge or ability to learn: vlookups, nested functions, pivot tables, charts/graphs, mail merge, etc.)
  • Strong skills in PowerPoint, including the ability to convert large amounts of data into clear, concise management presentations that facilitate decision making
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional customer service skills –
  • Ability to communicate across the organization; Ability to build strong partnerships, influence decisions, and communicate complex work in a clear and concise manner across a variety of audiences
  • Excellent communication skills including development and delivery of training materials, development and delivery of resource guides and user guides, development of FAQs, and maintenance of communication materials changes occur
  • Detail oriented, able to research issues to find root cause, drive resolution and prevent future issues
  • Ability to handle different personality types and various cultures with a customer service attitude
  • A highly productive self-starter who is comfortable operating on a small team - demonstrated ability to work independently, and collaboratively within a team
  • Committed to developing yourself, learning new skills, and receiving feedback in a constructive manner

Preferred (Bonus) Skills

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certificate in Compensation or related field
  • 2+ years in a total rewards or analytics role at a high-growth tech company
  • Experience in two or more of the following areas: Global Compensation, Incentive Pay, International Compensation (specifically India, Poland, UK, Ukraine, Israel)
  • Knowledge of Radford (Aon Hewitt) and other industry surveys
  • Knowledge of FLSA and other state and federal compensation requirements
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
