The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.
HR provides service offerings that align solutions to business challenges by ensuring the programs are Effective, Efficient, Global, Scaleable, and Repeatable. The Human Resources (HR) Manager, NA Supply Chain ensures the right talent is in place to execute supply chain strategy and achieve desired business results and ensuring that the group realizes required levels of employee productivity and performance excellence for the assigned client groups (including NA Customer Service team).
The HR Manager cultivates and maintains a positive work environment and operates as “One Corning” in support of Corning’s Values while providing optimal level of HR service and delivery in support of business goals and objectives. Partners closely with group, division, and corporate leadership to ensure compliance to legal and regulatory guidelines while also ensuring the optimal balance in support of our employees, the business, and the company interests.
Responsibilities
- Consistent deployment of Human Resources strategies
- Coordinates and calibrate efforts with Human Resources colleagues and leadership across multiple-sites and the business unit to build processes in support of the vision of "one complex" as there may be other groups in the same location operating under corporate policies
- Develops and deploys people movement and recruiting strategies in collaboration with Human Resources and operations leadership across all sites Manages the selection, recruitment, and orientation processes within the assigned client groups
- Develops site-specific policies, procedures, and guidelines aligned with applicable laws, and regulations
- Partners with Human Resources leadership and group leadership to identify and implement a compelling employee value proposition that enables recruitment and retention of needed talent
- Effectively deploys Human Resources shared service delivery model in support of HR transformational goals and required levels of client support
- Fully responsible for talent review and employee surveys and action planning for the assigned clients
- Collaborates closely with Human Resources leadership to understand and implement HR programs that drive standardization across the division while ensuring supply chain business needs are met
- Functions as the voice of the supply chain customer to Human Resources to ensure that the type and level of services provided fully support achievement of business objectives
- Educates supply chain management in development and implementation of required programs and processes to drive a positive work environment through management and supervisors
- Resolves employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner that recognizes employee needs and protects the need to operate in an effective and efficient manner
- Establishes and maintains a presence to keep a read on the pulse of the organization
- Implements appropriate risk management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety requirements and local, state, and federal employment laws across all sites
- Leads and/or take responsibility for and group Human Resources projects and initiatives
- Participates in division projects and initiatives, as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, focus on Human Resources Management or Industrial/Labor relations preferred
- 5 - 7 years progressive experience in the Human Resources function required
- Manufacturing and union/labor relations experience strongly preferred

Desired Skills
- Master’s degree and HR certification, a plus. HRCI or SHRM Certification, a plus
- Greenbelt certification
- Experience leading HR centric programs or projects
- Work experience in designing and implementing effective organization structures and work processes that improve the ability to achieve desired results-product start up, expansion, or mature business optimization
- Strong knowledge of applicable laws and ability to quickly interpret, apply, and administer policies and procedures
Location and Travel Requirement
- Position can be based in either: Tewksbury, MA; Tarboro, NC; Corning, NY; or Durham, NC
- < 20% for training and meetings
