General Description:
This position reports to the Plant Protection Manager under the Security Director. Candidate will assist or lead in emergency preparedness, education, evacuations, and emergency response. Candidate will assist with maintaining access control and the overall physical security of the sites. Candidates may be asked to train and mentor junior positions. Essential Duties:
Assist in the planning and development of emergency and contingency operations action plans, reporting, and response.
Act as an incident commander during emergencies.
Operate fire, life, safety equipment in support of ongoing projects, emergencies, and routine maintenance.
Serve as a liaison between HRL and local emergency services.
Assist in the training and development of HRL staff, HRL’s emergency response team, and the Plant Protection Team.
Perform other duties as necessary.
Assist with Badge and ID.
Review and approve general visitor requests.
Process and file security information.
Plan and execute security briefings to include new hire security briefs, threat and vulnerability assessments, incident briefs.
Assist with the development of a contracted guard force.
Conduct regular physical security checks and assessments.
Required Skills:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio).
Working knowledge of the National Incident Management System.
First Aid, CPR/AED certified.
Ability to update and maintain SharePoint is desired, but not required.
Wildland Firefighter training (S130/S190) is desired.
EMT Certification is desired
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully interact and work well with a diverse team of internal/external customers across organizational levels
Ability to build instructional safety training programs and lecture large groups in such programs.
Ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion.
Minimum of 5 years working in a Security or Emergency Operations position.
Prior experience working in support of both emergency operations and security operations is desired
Firefighting/EMT experience is desired
Experience working with counterintelligence processes.
Experience conducting counterintelligence briefs and assessments.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience or 7+ years of related work experience.
Physical Requirements:
Candidate must be able to operate fire extinguishers, fire hose lines, and fire protection equipment.
Candidate must be able to walk hilly terrain for extended periods of time.
Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance with polygraph required.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $65,610 - $80,030 + bonus + benefits.
