HubSpot has a world-class developer tooling and infrastructure platform to make this process seamless, allowing us to deploy to production on average 5,000 times per day.As a Senior Software Engineer II on the Flywheel AI Team, you will be responsible for mentoring junior engineers in areas such as architecture, designing, coding, tooling, and infrastructure. This team is focused on building AI-driven tools and services to support our Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams. We iterate quickly and ship code frequently, but always keep an eye on extensibility and upfront design planning.In this role, you will provide technical direction for team projects, participate in code reviews, and carry out system testing and debugging issues. You will take full ownership of the development of microservices that integrate with internal machine learning models and libraries, and be responsible for the design and writing of web services using Java 8.We’re looking for Engineers that:• Are strong engineers, interested in writing in the Java ecosystem• Take ownership of the end-to-end solution, work collaboratively, and figure things out• Understand that their job is not about implementing pre-written requirements, but figuring out exactly what is required to add value to our customers and their businesses• Consistently work to deliver reliable, performant, well-tested code• Have a thirst for technical challenges with distributed systems at a massive scale, leveraging technologies such as HBase, Kafka, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, GraphQL and Dropwizard• Ideally have experience with, or a strong interest in, deploying solutions that make use of Machine Learning and Generative AI models.• Nice-to-have: Some experience writing front-end prototypes using React• Demonstrate pragmatic decision-making and problem-solving abilities• Have a customer-centric attitude and develop an understanding of the HubSpot product• Understand the value of building a diverse team, and are upstanders for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives.Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job.
