Summary:
We are looking for an Engineering Insights Senior Data Scientist to drive key analytics and engineering initiatives that improve Disney Streaming's engineering ecosystem. The Engineering Insights team is responsible for identifying and building solutions for data insights that improve the reliability, performance, and user experience across Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu. This is an... opportunity to join a team to improve the user's experience through analyzing Disney Streaming's entire ecosystem, identifying areas of improvement, and building custom solutions to proactively expedite issue identification and root cause analysis. The analysis and insights you create will help drive engineering initiatives and priorities. Responsibilities:
Work with a group of data scientists, engineers, and analysts in the development of analytical models using statistical, machine learning and data mining methodologies Determine root cause of ecosystem reliability engineering events and build solutions to mitigate future failures or events Translate complex problems and solutions to all levels of the organization Drive innovation of the statistical and machine learning methodologies and tools used by the team Partner with cross-functional teams in identifying, defining, supporting, and improving reliability and performance Basic
Qualifications:
5
years of experience in advanced analytics Expert level knowledge of machine learning. Ability to define the direction for a project and select appropriate methods and tools. Up to date knowledge of recent advancements Experience implementing scalable, distributed, and highly available systems Proficient in Python. Java or Scala is a plus Experience in data processing using SQL and PySpark Highly skilled in statistics concepts (e.g., hypothesis testing, A/B testing, regression analysis, clustering, anomaly detection) Familiarity with data exploration and data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, etc. Strong analytical skills and innate curiosity to troubleshoot and dive deep into complex technical issues Experience using data and analytical skills to derive key performance insights in a complex ecosystem Experience of identifying key value drivers in a direct-to-consumer application
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Data Science & Machine LearningEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications
