Department of Justice
. We are seeking a self-starter to serve as our Human Resources Section as a Human Resources Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible to provide technical level advice and assistance to managers and employees of the department regarding employee safety, wellness, workers’ compensation, investigatory process coordination, and onboarding of new employees. If you are looking for day-to-day variety, apply now! This is a hybrid position of remote and in-office work. The majority of the work will take place in office, although there will be an opportunity for part-time remote work.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
You’ll be entrusted to (in part):
-
Track first aid, quarterly safety inspections, and annual fire and earthquake drills.

Coordinate the annual flu clinic and OSHA hearing tests.
-
Participate in Safety Committee meetings, take meeting minutes in absence of HR Admin Support Specialist, track assignments and progress made.
-
Ensure that Agency building evacuation plans are up to date.
-
Perform ergonomic assessments and coordinate employee assistance reimbursements and arrange for funding to modify work sites.
-
Collect documentation relating to accidents, injuries, illnesses, etc. if reportable under OR-OSHA and/or SAIF.
-
Maintain and update Incident Report Logs and OSHA Injury Logs.
-
Distribute ADA packets as needed.
-
Maintain assigned SharePoint pages including the SharePoint safety and emergency preparedness sites, including documents and forms.

Maintain familiarity with Workday business processes and provide advice and instruction to managers, employees and HR professionals.
-
Establish, through cooperative efforts, Workday procedures in accordance with division needs, HR and DAS policy, and best practices.

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business, layout, and needs of the agency to ensure operational needs are met.

Assist with development of archiving processes and ongoing maintenance of archiving tasks.

Provide back up to HR Administrative Assistant for reception, mail processing, scheduling of meetings and reserving meeting spaces, and other support functions.

Other duties as assigned in support of the senior human resources analysts.

Other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
-
Two years of human resources clerical-support experience directly assisting human resources professionals in the administrative functions of a human resources program;
OR
-
Three years progressively responsible administrative, clerical or record-keeping support experience.
College-level course work may substitute for the general experience requirement based on 45-quarter units per year. Work experience is based on a 40 hour work week. (Example: 20 hours a week for one year would equal six-months of work experience). The State Certified Human Resources Professional (SCHRP) certification, awarded by the Oregon Chief Human Resources Office, substitutes for six months of human resource professional-level experience.
