Department Summary
Early Childhood CARES provides Early Intervention (EI) and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) services to infants, toddlers, and preschool children in Lane County with developmental delays and disabilities.
Early Childhood CARES services include parent consultation, parent-toddler groups, specialized preschools, community preschool consultation, speech and language therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
Early Childhood CARES is funded by the Oregon Department of Education with state and federal funds and is one of nine programs delivering EI/ECSE services across the state.
Position Summary
The HR Generalist provides human resource support to the Early Childhood CARES program. This includes managing faculty and staff recruitment, position description drafting, tracking applicants through the talent management system (MyTrack), arranging interviews, and onboarding new staff. Additional job duties include creating and monitoring Qualtrics surveys and fillable forms.
This position serves as a vital communication link and is involved in many sensitive and confidential matters including policy development, document processing, and conversations related to personnel actions associated with Early Childhood CARES staff.
As coordinator of the new hire orientation team, the HR Generalist will work with the team to establish a positive onboarding experience to set up new hires for long-term success. We will look to you to find ways to improve the orientation process through research and feedback.
In order to succeed in this role, you must be an approachable, knowledgeable resource for leadership and employees, and help the agency to successfully meet the increasing needs of a growing early childhood special education program.
This position is supervised by the Early Childhood CARES Business Manager.
