Human Resources Internship

Are you interested in kickstarting your career in HR and gaining hands-on experience through a paid internship opportunity this summer? Bell Laboratories Inc., a local and family-owned manufacturer in Windsor, WI, has an exciting new opportunity for a motivated individual to join our talented Human Resources team.

Our intern will work under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager to provide administrative support to the department, working closely with each member of the team to gain a better understanding of what it means to be a resource to employees within a manufacturing facility. Scheduled hours will be from 8:00AM – 5:00PM, Monday through Friday with a targeted start date of late May/early June.

The HR Intern's RESPONSIBILITIES will include (but are not limited to):

  • Updating internal databases with employee information
  • Assisting with implementation of new HRIS software
  • Assembling benefits, open enrollment and onboarding materials
  • Filing and scanning employee forms and records
  • Prescreening resumes, applications, and administering pre-employment paperwork
  • Assisting with recruitment processes including scheduling and confirming interviews with candidates
  • Organizing company events, career fairs and recruitment events
  • Reviewing and distributing communications
  • Supporting the employee recognition program
  • Creating new and innovative concepts for recruiting and retaining employees

REQUIREMENTS of the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree at the junior or senior level in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working in a customer service / people-facing environment.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. labor laws.
  • Familiarity with HRIS software is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
