Information Designer

Human Rights Watch (HRW) is looking for an experienced Information Designer to join their Visuals team, responsible for creating visually-driven stories for web and social media audiences.

Skills

Expertise in graphic design fundamentals
Ability to optimize user experience for engaging visual content
Proficiency in Adobe XD and Figma
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, and InDesign
Familiarity with front-end web development principles
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Self-motivation and ability to work collaboratively

Responsibilities

Conceptualize and design standalone visuals and visually-driven stories
Enhance presentation of research findings through design
Create and implement designs using different design tools
Contribute to excellence in production of major HRW research
Analyze and present data through informative designs
Ensure quality of outputs meets visual, ethical, and legal standards
Support wider work of the Visuals team
Perform other tasks as required

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, journalism, or related field
