The Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) currently has a Human Services Specialist position in the Economic and Employment Support Division. The hourly pay rate for this position is $18.26/hour.
As a Human Services Specialist, you will:
- Collect and analyze information required to determine eligibility and monitor changes in circumstances of households to determine and affect payment benefits.
- Obtain Information- Use Application, Review, Interim Report, or change information to determine such information as household composition, family unit, income, resources, expenses, etc.
- Apply knowledge and determine eligibility- Gain/maintain program knowledge in Cash, Food Assistance, Child Care and LIEAP programs.
- Data entry & Documentation- Enter information on eligibility systems as you obtain and document as you go.
- Communication with Internal and External Sources- Contact clients for information or to update them on case situations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Two years of experience interviewing, investigating, compiling information, documenting decisions, interpreting guidelines and/or providing technical assistance relevant to the agency's programs.
- Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Case Management Experience, Human Service Field Experience, Budgeting/Financial Computation Experience.
