Responsible for administrative duties in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.Work Schedule: Full Time /40 HoursHours of Operation: M-F / 8a-5pJob Type: Back Office Medical AssistantSpecialty: In-home Primary CarePosition Type: Hybrid (On-site & Local Travel)This position will be helping support CenterWell Primary Care Anywhere, which provides in-home primary care services to our patients.This position will have both, an on-site and field-based working expectation. When expected to work on-site, it will require working from our Morrow, GA business center location. This position could be out in the field assisting our providers with primary care house calls anywhere from 1-5 days per week. When working out in the field, the Medical Assistant will be performing phlebotomy, vitals, and assist with initial work-up. Mileage reimbursement will be included.When expected to go out in the field to assist our providers, the Medical Assist could service the following areas: Newnan, White Oak, Peachtree City, Fayetteville, Hampton, Griffin, Fairburn, Jonesboro, Riverdale, McDonough, Stockbridge, Conyers, Covington, Jamestown, Forest Park, Lithonia, Stonecrest, and Ellenwood.This position will also allow 1-2 days to work remotely from home after initial probationary period.The Medical Assistant 2 performs clinical duties such as discussing symptoms and gathering and inputting information into the electronic medical records system, taking vital signs, giving injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site. Collaborates closely with Physicians and Nurses. Delivers direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.Use your skills to make an impactRequired Qualifications• High School Diploma or GED.• 1-3 years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back office', direct patient care setting. Cross-trained to do front office procedures.• An active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, AAH, AMT, ARMA, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, NHA, MedCA. If not certified or registered, MUST be willing to obtain certification or registration from one of these organizations within 6-months from date of hire.• Active phlebotomy certification or willing to obtain certification within 6-months from date of hire. Must have hands-on professional phlebotomy experience.• Hands-on professional phlebotomy experience.• Reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and a clean driving record through DMV.• Active BLS certification from the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).• This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program.
