Who you are   

Step into our newly formed mobile squad as a Technical Lead, where you'll be instrumental in bridging the gap between business needs and technical needs. Your expertise will enable you to effectively articulate technical challenges to the team while ensuring clarity around business requirements. Collaborating closely with our mobile engineers, you'll champion best practices that enhance the development process, helping us to deliver a seamless user experience within the Humanforce Work application.

 

What you will do   

  • Craft, create, and deploy robust and scalable software solutions utilizing .NET, Node.js (TypeScript), and AWS technologies like Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SNS, and Cognito. You will work to enhance our leading product suite, including features for worker scheduling, time and attendance, leave management, payroll, and messaging and notification services.
  • Support and guide junior team members, helping to develop their technical skills and professional growth.
  • Work closely with product teams to fine-tune and develop exciting new features, ensuring they are primed for implementation by the team.
  • Champion the integration of automated testing while prioritizing quality throughout the entire development lifecycle.
  • Provide thoughtful technical leadership, sharing well-founded opinions and insights while fostering a collaborative and humble environment.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends, especially in the realm of mobile application development.
  • Dedicate time to your own professional development, focusing on your continuous growth and learning.

 

What you’ll need   

  • Bring 5-7 years of software engineering experience to the table, with a strong preference for those with tech lead experience.
  • Demonstrate your expertise in delivering robust software solutions leveraging technologies like .NET and Node.js (TypeScript).
  • Have hands-on experience with a suite of AWS technologies including Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
  • Have experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and Entity Framework.
  • Exhibit a solid track record of collaborating effectively with product teams to identify and develop innovative features while communicating seamlessly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Possess a solid understanding of agile methodologies along with experience leading agile ceremonies.
  • Showcase excellent mentoring and leadership abilities, demonstrating the capacity to guide and uplift your teammates.
  • Display a strong commitment to software excellence and possess expertise in deploying automated testing approaches.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire your team towards achieving engineering excellence.

Some ‘nice to haves’

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitHub actions, TeamCity and Octopus deploy. 
  • Experience with monitoring and logging solutions for distributed systems. 
  • Familiarity with native mobile application development including Kotlin and/or Swift, or a willingness to learn and expand skills in this area.  
  • Experience in diagnosing and optimising performance bottlenecks.
